The International Relations Program at UIN Jakarta Holds Discussion on the Film 'Hamka & Siti Rahmah Vol 2

Bahtiar Effendy Auditorium, FISIP Online – The International Relations Program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), UIN Jakarta, organized a film discussion on 'Hamka & Siti Rahmah Vol 2, Wednesday, (12/20/2023), at the Prof. Bahtiar Effendy Auditorium, FISIP UIN Jakarta campus.

Moderated by Dr. Rahmi Fitriyanti, a lecturer in International Relations at FISIP UIN Jakarta, the event featured Vino G Bastian (portraying Buya Hamka) and Ustadz Alfie Alfandy as speakers.

Among the attendees were the Dean of FISIP UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dzuriyatun Toyibah, the Head of the International Relations Program at UIN Jakarta, Robi Sugara, M.Sc, and hundreds of UIN Jakarta students.

During the event, Vino G Bastian, who played the role of Buya Hamka, shared insights into the character of Buya Hamka. According to Vino, Buya Hamka was an extraordinary figure, multidimensional, serving as a hero, poet, and literary figure, especially as a religious scholar.

“The endeavour of Buya Hamka should not end with the generation of Buya Hamka. But every generation must know who Buya Hamka is because many nowadays only know Buya Hamka through his works," he said.

He also expressed his hope that the film about Buya Hamka becomes more universal, not only focusing on Buya Hamka but also highlighting Siti Raham. “Buya Hamka would not be as strong without Siti Raham,” he added.

The event concluded with the distribution of door prizes, including free tickets to watch 'Hamka & Siti Raham Vol 2.
