International Webinar: Embracing a Post Pandemic World: Reflection on Shifting Trends and Challenges in Global Health Politics
FISIP Online, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences is holding an international seminar which will be held on Thursday, 28 October 2021 at 09.45 – 12.00 WIB. This event uses the Zoom and YouTube applications to meet face to face online. This is because it is to prevent the spread of the corona virus. The theme of this event is "Embracing a Post Pandemic World: Reflection on Shifting Trends and Challenges in Global Health Politics".
This event invited speakers, namely Dr. Jessica Kirk (Griffith University), Dicky Budiman, MD., M.Sc.PH (Griffith University), Irfan R. Hutagalung, SH, LLM (FISIP UIN Jakarta) and moderated by Mutiara Pertiwi, MA (FISIP UIN Jakarta). This seminar event was opened by remarks from the Dean of FISIP Prof. Dr. Ali Munhanif, MA. by greeting the speakers and seminar participants and providing an overview of the theme of this international seminar.
Dr. Jessica Kirk was the first speaker to present the material by explaining that Covid-19 has no regional boundaries so it cannot be solved alone but requires collaboration and cooperation from all levels of society to be able to deal with it. "The supply of medical products needed during the pandemic is apparently not capable and ready to meet the needs of the current crisis situation," said Jessica.
Then the event continued with a presentation by the second resource person, namely Dicky Budiman, MD., M.Sc.PH, who explained that it was necessary to introduce and activate existing multi-level coordinating bodies (health crisis clusters) that unite central and regional governments in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. .
The last source who spoke was Irfan R. Hutagalung, SH, LLM who explained about the lawsuit against China by the United States in international court because of efforts to cover up the first Covid-19 case in Wuhan, China.
Before the end of the event, a question and answer session was held between the participants and the resource persons. It can be seen that the participants from this international seminar were very enthusiastic about this event and actively asked questions for the speakers.
