Studium Generale: Gender, Globalization, and Human Trafficking
FISIP Online, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is holding a Studium Generale which will be held on Monday, 08 May 2023 at 10.00 – 12.00 WIB. This event took place in the Prof. Auditorium. Bahtiar Effendy FISIP UIN Jakarta which was attended enthusiastically by Political Science Study Program students and members of the FISIP UIN Jakarta academic community. The theme of this event is "Gender, Globalization, and Human Trafficking ".
This time the Studium Generale invited a speaker, namely, Anis Hidayah (Commissioner of the Indonesian National Human Rights Commission). The event began with remarks and introductions from the Dean of FISIP UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Dzuriyatun Toyibah, M.Si., MA. The person acting as moderator is Dr. Ana Sabhana Azmy, MIP (Lecturer at FISIP UIN Jakarta) with her characteristically enthusiastic demeanor.
The Dean of FISIP gave a speech at this studium generale event by giving hope that this event could open students' insight in the context of Gender, Globalization and Human Trafficking to be more productive in exploring positive information. Apart from that, he stated that this activity shows FISIP's concern and concern for upholding justice which is the mandate of Komnas HAM. Therefore, this activity is the beginning of collaboration between FISIP UIN Jakarta and Komnas HAM, which also shows that FISIP is ready to become a partner of Komnas HAM in carrying out its mandate related to fulfilling citizens' sense of justice in various fields such as law, politics, economics, social.
Then the event continued with a presentation by the speaker, Anis Hidayah, explaining that the global mobility of migrant workers throughout the world is dominated by women. "Female migrant workers still experience discrimination and are more vulnerable to experiencing human rights violations and gender-based violence," said Anis. In the future, Indonesian migrant workers are vulnerable to becoming victims of transnational crime, as well as being framed as perpetrators, especially in human trafficking, drug trafficking and terrorism.
After the resource person gave his presentation, a question and answer session was opened for the resource person by students. Students were very active in asking questions to resource persons and were enthusiastic from the start of participating in this general studium. The event closed with giving souvenirs to the speakers and giving book prizes to students with the best questions.
