Ministry of Religion and Ministry of Research, Technology and Culture Appoint Five New Professors at UIN Jakarta
FISIP Online, Ministries, both the Indonesian Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) and the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikbud) appointed five new professors at UIN Jakarta. The five of them are expected to strengthen academic traditions according to their respective fields of expertise.
The five new professors are Dr. HM Asrorun Ni'am S.Ag, MA, Dr. Bambang Irawan M.Ag, Dr. Zulfiani S.Si M.Pd, Didin Nuruddin Hidayat MA Ph.D, and Dr. Dzuriyatun Toyibah MA. The status of each professor is determined by the Menang Decree, while others are determined by the Menristekdikbud Decree.
Prof. Dr. Dzuriyatun Toyibah, M.Si., MA. This lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) was appointed Professor of Sociology with a credit number of 851 from Head Professor 405. His appointment was stated in the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 64526 of 2022 concerning Promotion of Academic/Functional Positions which was signed by the Minister of Education and Culture on October 17 2022.
Apart from serving as Deputy Dean for General Administration at FISIP, he actively teaches at the Sociology Study Program at FISIP. He teaches a number of courses in Sociology scientific families such as Introduction to Sociology, Theory of Social Change, Economic Sociology, Classical Social Theory, Modern Social Theory and Quantitative Methods.
Having expertise in Sociology, Dzuriyatun is interested in a number of research topics, especially women's discourse, gender justice, democratization, multiculturalism, and Islamic social dynamics. This can be seen from the research papers, journal articles and books he wrote.
For example, she wrote an article entitled Doing Gender and Race Intersectionality: The Experiences of Female Maori and Non-White Academics in New Zealand (2022); Partners in Jihad: Marriage, Women and Deradicalized Terrorists in Indonesia (2021); Indonesian Muslims in the Netherlands: Responding to Nationalism, Islamism, Democracy, and Pluralism (2022); and others. Among his books is From Patriarchy to Politics: A Study of Reflexivity & Political Participation of Female Students .
