Head of Political Science Study Program FISIP UIN Jakarta Elected as General Chair of Apsipol

The III National Conference (Munas) of the Indonesian Apsipol Study Program Association (Apsipol) took place quite seriously even though it remained in a relaxed atmosphere. The accountability report of the Management for the 2019-2020 service period was received with notes by the forum. Then the event continued with discussions on the Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD ART) which took quite a long time because almost every delegation from Political Science Study Programs throughout Indonesia submitted proposals for improvements. Many changes resulted from these discussions, including extending the management service period from two years to three years. This means that the new Apsipol management period is 2022-2025.

During the peak event of National Conference III, namely the election of the new general chairman and formation team, the atmosphere was more relaxed. Even though at the beginning there was quite a long discussion regarding the election rules, starting from nominations by each delegate, statements of the candidates' willingness, etc., in the end these rules were not used. This is because at the trial, there was a proposal that an election be held by deliberation and consensus. And when a name was proposed as the new general chairman, in this case Iding Rosyidin, who was previously the General Secretary of Apsipol, the forum agreed. Thus, the election took place by acclamation, and Iding Rosyidin from the Political Science Study Program at FISIP UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta was appointed as the new General Chair of Apsipol replacing Luthfi Makhasin from the Political Science Study Program at Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) Purwokerto.

The atmosphere of the Apsipol III National Conference at FISIP Untan Pontianak

The III National Conference was held in Pontianak on Wednesday-Thursday 21-22 September. Acting as host was FISIP Tanjungpura University (Untan). This is also a form of collaboration between Apsipol and Untan where the latter has a big celebration including an international conference, namely the International Conference on Applied Science, Social Innovation and Technology (ICONAST). Several people from Apsipol participated by becoming presenters and moderators in parallel discussions at the conference.

At the III National Conference, it was also agreed on the location for holding the annual scientific conference or meeting. In 2023 it will be held at Bangka Belitung University and in 2024 at Semarang State University (Unnes). Meanwhile, it was agreed that the IV National Conference would be held at UIN Ar Raniry Aceh. National Conference III itself was attended by 42 members from 21 Political Science Study Programs.
