Guest Lecture: Humanitarian Disasters in Contemporary Global Studies
FISIP Online. On Thursday, 20 October 2022, FISIP UIN Jakarta held a guest lecturer event which was held at 14.00 WIB – 17.00 WIB at the Prof. Auditorium. Bahtiar Effendy offline. The theme of the guest lecturer event was Humanitarian Disasters in Contemporary Global Studies . This activity is a routine agenda carried out by the faculty to hold guest lecturer events by inviting speakers from outside.
This public lecture invited speakers namely Dr. Dra. Christine Sri Marnani, MAP (Defence University). This event was opened by remarks from the Secretary of the HI FISIP UIN Jakarta Study Program who was also the moderator at this event, namely Dr. Rahmi Fitriyanti, M.Sc. This event received enthusiasm from the students who came to take part in the activities of this guest lecturer event.
"We hold events like this to open students' insights and information to a wider and deeper level regarding the study of International Relations," said Rahmi. After giving a speech, the event continued with a presentation by the resource person, namely Dr. Dra. Christine Sri Marnani, MAP
"A disaster is an event or series of events that threatens and disrupts people's lives and livelihoods caused by natural, non-natural and human factors, causing loss of life, environmental damage, loss of property and psychological impacts," said Christine. In continuation, the (Central) Government and Regional Governments have the authority and responsibility in implementing disaster management, by harmonizing existing laws and regulations, respecting local culture, building public and private participation and partnerships, encouraging the spirit of mutual cooperation, team loyalty, and generosity.
Before the end of the event, a question and answer session was opened by students for the resource persons. It was seen that students were enthusiastic in asking questions to the resource persons to gain information about the theme of this event.
