FISIP Online – The Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) UIN Jakarta has once again added to its professorial ranks following the appointment of Burhanuddin Muhtadi, M.A., Ph.D as a professor. Burhanuddin has been appointed as a Full Professor in the field of Political Science through the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbud Ristek RI) Decree Number 46250/2023 dated August 25, 2023.

It is known that Burhanuddin has been familiar with the world of writing since he was in the sixth grade of elementary school. After completing his primary education, he continued his studies at MTs Muallimin/at NU Rembang. His continuously honed writing skills enabled him to receive various awards from numerous Scientific Writing Competitions he participated in. He successfully emerged as a champion in various competitions, both at the municipal level in Solo and at the provincial level in Central Java.

After completing his high school education, Burhanuddin Muhtadi decided to move to Jakarta in 1996 to further his studies. He chose IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta, which is now renamed UIN. While immersed in the academic world, he became interested in writing articles for mass media. The first title he wrote was "Keterbukaan Pasca Insiden 27 Juli". His efforts in creating the first article paid off as it was published in the mass media Harian Terbit. This accomplishment made Burhanuddin proud and happy. He was determined to continue honing his writing skills and creating articles to be submitted to various mass media outlets.

From 1996 to 2004, hundreds of articles created by Burhanuddin Muhtadi were published in various mass media outlets, both at the local and national levels. His articles were written in two languages, namely Indonesian and English. Some of the diverse articles he wrote include "Pasifisme Demokrasi", "Mengukur Viabilitas Politik Aliran, "Menyoal Hegemoni Bahasa Agama", "Pembebasan Kaum Tertindas", "Dilema Kampanye Dialogis", "Reward dan Punishment dalam Pemilu", "Dunia yang Terbelah", "Formasi Inteligensia Muslim Indonesia", and "Lahirnya Partai Miniatur Indonesia".

Burhanuddin Muhtadi pursued his second Master's degree at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, Australia, specializing in Political Science (Research). Prior to this, he had already earned his first Master's degree at the same university, concentrating on the Faculty of Asian Studies, also known as MAPS (Master of Asian and Pacific Studies).

In addition to writing various articles, Burhanuddin Muhtadi also authored a book titled "Dilema PKS Suara dan Syariah".The book received appreciation from various individuals, including Andi Akmal Pasluddin, who served as the Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the Partai Keadilas Sosial (PKS). Andi Akmal expressed his appreciation during a book discussion event for "Dilema PKS Suara dan Syariah," held at the Celebes Research Centre (CRC) in Makassar on April 17, 2012.
