FISIP UIN Jakarta Students Share Experiences from MOSMA 2023
Nine students from the International Relations Program at FISIP UIN Jakarta were selected for the MORA Overseas Student Mobility Awards (MOSMA) program in the United States. They shared their stories, experiences, and tips with other students during the MOSMA Awardee Sharing Session organized by HIMAHI FISIP UIN Jakarta on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the Bahtiar Effendy Auditorium, FISIP UIN Jakarta campus.
Representing the MOSMA students, Shafira Khairunnisa, who had the opportunity to visit York College of Pennsylvania, USA, detailed the thorough preparations required for her journey. These preparations included taking the TOEFL test, undergoing health and drug screenings, and obtaining letters of recommendation from the dean's office.
She also expressed her deep gratitude for the tremendous support from her family, friends, and the International Relations Program at FISIP UIN Jakarta. This collective effort was immensely significant for her, helping her from the initial application phase through to her return.
"This program not only enhanced my academic knowledge but also enriched my life with various cross-cultural encounters and international friendships," she said.
For your information, MOSMA is a physical mobility initiative offered by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag/MORA) of Indonesia. Through this program, students have the opportunity to embark on a transformative academic journey at international universities. MOSMA lasts for one semester with a maximum duration of six months, and participants earn credits that can be integrated into the Semester Credit Units (SKS) at their home university.
