Bawaslu Participatory Supervisory Cadre School (SKPP)
Bawaslu Participatory Supervisory Cadre School (SKPP)

The Participatory Supervisory Cadre School (SKPP) is an agenda carried out by Bawaslu as an election supervisory institution. SKPP is a means of improving the quality of procedural democracy that is free from all kinds of violations in the implementation of elections or Pilkada. This is done by involving SKPP participants to contribute to influencing young people or first-time voters, elements of society, and so on about the importance of clean elections or Pilkada.

Initially, I took part and was a participant in the Online SKPP which was held nationally in early 2020 in every Regency/City by Bawaslu RI. The selection process in SKPP Online is determined by the results of the scores achieved by participants each time they complete the material and the final exam scores. Thank God, I was one of the 30 North Lampung Online SKPP participants who passed.

After that, North Lampung Regency Bawaslu selected the participants and chose three people to represent North Lampung in the Lampung Province SKPP for four days. A series of selections are carried out such as filing, essays/papers, and interviews. Thank God, I succeeded in passing a series of selections and became participant number one among the participants who registered and had the right to represent North Lampung to the Province.

The SKPP at the provincial level was held for four days at the Emersia Hotel, Bandar Lampung on 26-29 November 2020. The agenda was carried out face to face while still adhering to applicable health protocols. The discussion or material provided is quite detailed in discussing issues regarding the implementation of elections or Pilkada. Such as forms of election violations, strengthening supervisory institutions, disputes in elections, the important role of communities, and so on. At the end of each material session, it is always closed with a post-test  and answering questions about the material. At the end of the agenda, the best participants were closed and announced. Thank God, I managed to become the number one best participant and had the opportunity to represent Lampung Province in SKPP at the national level.

Until now, I am still waiting for the implementation of the SKPP Bawaslu RI agenda at the national level. There are great hopes to become the best participant again like previous achievements at the Regency and Provincial levels. Of course it is a matter of pride to bring the good name of the Province and Regency to the national SKPP implementation.

The reason I joined the Participatory Supervisory Cadre School was the desire to create good procedural democracy in accordance with the Luber-Jurdil principle. That way, when there is a democratic party, I can contribute to socializing acts of election violations, inviting new voters to exercise their right to vote, increasing people's political participation in elections, and realizing elections that are democratic and have integrity.
